Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 1/4
cups flour
1 tsp.
baking soda
1 tsp.
salt
1/2 cup
softened butter
1/2 cup
shortening
3/4 cup
granulated sugar
3/4 cup
brown sugar
1 tsp.
vanilla extract
2 large
eggs
2 cups
semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup
chopped nuts (optional)
Combine
dry ingredients, set aside. With
electric mixer at medium speed beat butter, shortening and sugars together
until creamy. Add vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after
each addition. Gradually beat in flour
mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon on ungreased
cookie sheets.
Bake @
375 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove
to wire racks to cool completely.
